Robert P. "Bob" Dunning, 87, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 10:20 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017, at his residence.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Bob was born on January 14, 1930, in Des Moines, IA, the son of Rex P. and Emma I. Umbenhower Dunning. He married Lois M. Simpson June 22, 1952.  He married Linda Miller Jones on January 9, 1995 in Edgar County, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Janis (Frank) Button of Marrero, LA, Carol (Alan) Pascolini of Hinckley, IL, Robert P. (Lucia) Dunning, Jr. of Fallbrook, CA and Diane (Joe) Magnanensi of Naperville, IL, Sam (Cindy) Tolley of Oakland, IL, Sandi (Jeremy) Whitlach of Mattoon, IL, eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin daughters, Janice Lynn and Carol Lynn; and his brother, William Dunning.

Bob retired from Bekins Van Lines in Hillside, IL, where he worked for over 30 years. He served in the United States Army National Guard for over 20 years.

He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, HO trains, and cookbooks. He loved his family and his best buddy, Sammy (his furbaby). A patriot for life, his love for his country was unsurpassed.
