Robert I. "Bob" Corman, 81, of Monticello, IL, formerly of Hammond, IL, passed away at 10:14 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL
Private Family Graveside Services will be held at the Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, IL with military rites accorded.
Bob was born on January 28, 1934 in Decatur, IL, the son of Martin and Vera Heckel Corman. He married Marlene K. Sieh on November 24, 1957 at the Lake Fork Church, rural Atwood, IL.
He leaves his wife and three children: Robert (Cindy) Corman, Jr. of Hammond, IL, Susan (Randy) Murphy of Sullivan, IL and Sandra Reed of The Villages, FL. Bob also leaves his grandchildren that he adored: Dalton Corman, Meredith and Tori Murphy, Shauna Daniels, Casey Finger and Cody Reed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers.
Bob farmed for many years in the Hammond area. He loved to plant the seed and watch it grow. He always said harvest time is beautiful.
Bob graduated from Atwood-Hammond High School in 1952. He served in the US Navy from 1954 to 1956. Bob served on the Atwood-Hammond School Board and the First State Bank of Hammond Board of Directors.
He was a member of the Hammond United Methodist Church, Arthur Masonic Lodge #825, AF & AM and the Ansar Shrine.
Memorials are suggested to the Hammond United Methodist Church or Kirby Medical Center, Monticello, IL.
