Robert L. "Bob" Birch, 80, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 12:56 am, Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with the Rev. Don Gerkin officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL

Bob was born on April 15, 1930 in Sadorus, IL, the son of Vernon and Eunice Roles Birch. He married Marilyn J. Wilcoxen on June 18, 1954 in Atwood, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include his children: Jeffrey Birch and wife: Nancy of Atwood, IL, Jan Parchem and husband: David of St. John, IN, grandchildren: Brian Parchem, Katie Parchem, Benjamin Parchem, Taylor Birch and Kelsey Birch, brother: Alvin Birch of Mt. Zion, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Lloyd and Donald Birch, sister: Charlotte Plog

Bob retired from Quantum-USI Chemical Company in Tuscola, where he worked as a cost estimator for over 36 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Atwood Christian Church, Tuscola Moose Lodge and the Odd Fellow Lodge of Arthur.

Bob loved to golf, fish, garden and eat out. He loved all of his family very much.
