Rick McGuire, 54, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 4:04 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2009 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Don Horath officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Rick was born on November 26, 1954 in Tuscola, IL, the son of Judson F. and Ada M. Mathes McGuire.

Surviving is his mother and stepfather: Ada and Hubert Crum of Tuscola, brothers: Timothy McGuire and wife: Debbie of Greenwood, IN, Thomas McGuire and wife: Jan of Mooresville, NC, sister: Micki Suits and husband: Lowell of St. Joseph, IL, 8 nieces and nephews, step-brother: Richard Crum and wife: Kathy of Decatur, IL, step-sisters: Brenda Baker and husband: Raymond of Forsyth, IL, Glenda McMinn of Corpus Christi, TX

He was preceded in death by his father.

Rick was a 1972 graduate of Tuscola Community High School and he graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He was a sport writer and formerly coached Little League. Rick was a great sports enthusiast and statistician, he especially loved baseball. He loved spending time on Saturday's with his sister and her grandchildren, whom he dearly loved and they adored him.
