Richard C. Zartler, 77, of Tuscola, IL, formerly of Niles, IL, passed away at 11:52 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.

Services celebrating Richard's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. following the visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Braaten officiating. Private family graveside services will be held at the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Richard was born on September 6, 1939 in Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents Karl and Dorothy (Steele) Zartler. He married Jill J. Vachout on July 18, 1959 in Chicago, IL.

He is survived by his wife Jill, his daughters Pamela (Brett) Bacci and their children, Angela Lynn and Anthony Brett; Patricia (Paul) Gagliardi and their children, Joseph Richard and Alexander Paul, and his sisters Barbara (Jack, deceased) Vachout and Janice Wolf.

Richard and Jill moved to Tuscola in 1998. He was a retired auto mechanic and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Tuscola, IL.
