Richard D. Stilley, 77, of rural Sadorus, IL, passed away at 11:03 a.m., Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Champaign, 1602 South Prospect Ave., Savoy, IL, with the Rev. Dr. Randy Gauger officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL and 1 hour prior to the services Monday at the church. Burial with military graveside rites will be in the Lewis Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.
Richard was born on July 29, 1934 in Benton, IL, the son of Carl and Beatrice Sanders Stilley. He married Virginia Louise Woodard on October 6, 1956 in Anna, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include: 2 sons: Ronald Owen Stilley and wife: Dianne of Cordova, TN, Michael Carl Stilley and wife: Jan of Lino Lakes, MN, daughter: Sheila Louise Jessen and husband: Chad of Girard, IL, grandchildren: Carmen Louise Wolff, Ian Scott Goulden, Kiana Jae Stilley and Jaedyn Elise Stilley, nieces: Karen, Beverly, Sharon and Ann.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Fred Stilley.

Richard retired in 1994 as a heavy equipment operator after 37 ½ years at Quantum Chemical Company in Tuscola, IL. He was a US Army Veteran. Richard was a member of the First Baptist Church of Champaign in Savoy. In his 20's, he was a member of the Illinois State Police Auxiliary. He bred and trained Quarter Horses. He liked to read and work crossword puzzles. He had a good sense of humor and always had a story to tell. Dick enjoyed Sunday lunches at Arby's after church with his friends.
