Richard F. "Rick" Whalen, 59, of Camargo, IL, died at 11:30 PM, Saturday, August 5, 2006 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois
Memorial Services will be held at a later date. The Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Whalen was born on April 4, 1947 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of John and Helen Quist Whalen.
He married Dora Ann TeVault on December 10, 1981 in Charleston, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include: 1 Brother: John Whalen of Terre Haute, IN, 3 Sisters: Helen Jean Wise of Cloverdale, IN, Elizabeth "Betty" Christopher of Brazil, IN, Jacquelyn Hickman of Charleston, IL, Special Nephew: Bob Hickman of Charleston, IL, Other Special Nieces and Nephews and Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Douglas County Humane Society
Mr. Whalen has been the owner/operator of the R-Jay's Package Liquor Store in Tuscola, IL since 1985. He was a US Army Veteran, having served as a military policeman at West Point. Mr. Whalen received his higher education from Marquette University at Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Indiana State University at Terre Haute, Indiana.
