Richard D. Jones, 89, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 7:41 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.

Memorial Services will be held immediately following the visitation on Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating.

Private family graveside services with military rites accorded will be held at the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Richard was born on September 23, 1929 at Sockum, IL, the son of Hubert and Clara Spurgeon Jones. He married Edith Evelyn Prosser on September 1, 1948. She preceded him in death on July 20, 1994. He married Betty L. Kresin Romine on December 7, 1996. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2012.

Survivors include his daughter: Bonnie Conley of Thornton, CO, sons: Michael Jones of Tuscola, Tony Jones of Hammond, Daniel Jones of Tuscola and David Jones of Arcola. 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons: Ric and Fred Jones, brothers: John, Carroll, Don, Harry and Paul, sisters: Mary, Myrtle, Marjorie and Maxine.

Richard served his country as a member of the US Air Force. He worked as a serviceman for CILCO Gas Company for many years, retiring in 1990.
