Rex E. Hadden, 90, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 7:35 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2012 at Clark Lindsey Village, Urbana, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with the Rev. Dennis Hanner officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2012 with a 7:30 p.m., Masonic Service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL with military graveside rites accorded.
Rex was born on May 9, 1922 in Atwood, IL, the son of Russel and Pearl Barnhart Hadden. He married Martha Lewis on February 12, 1944 in Atwood, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include his sons: Phillip Hadden of Atwood, IL and Brian Hadden of Missoula, MT
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Max Hadden
Rex graduated from Atwood High School in 1940. He attended Iowa State University in 1941 in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Rex was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the 30th Bombardment Squadron 19th Bomb Group. Rex graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science and Chicago School of Watchmaking. He started Hadden Jewelry in 1949 and was active until his death. Rex was a member of the Atwood Masonic Lodge #651, AF & AM and the James Reeder American Legion Post #770, Atwood, IL.
