Obituary

Redith Helen "Aunt Ree" Quick, 94, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Lake Fork United Church of Christ, Rural Atwood, IL, with Rev. Conrad Heisner officiating.. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Burial will be in the Lake Fork Cemetery, Rural Atwood, IL.

Redith was born on January 11, 1916 in Douglas County, IL, the daughter of Leslie T. and Fern L. Masterson Quick.

She worked as the secretary for the Rantoul City Schools and retired after 28 years of services. Redith has been a member of the Lake Fork Church, north of Atwood, IL since 1929. At Lake Fork Church, she was the president of the Women's Fellowship, wrote letters to visitors, served as the chairwomen of the courtesy and flower committee. Redith graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. She served as the Chaplain of the Legion Auxiliary and the Secretary-Treasurer of Zion Unit P.H.C.H.E. She worked two half days per month for the Faith in Action Office in Monticello, IL, where she served as the co-key person from Lake Fork Church. Redith was an avid Illini fan and loved all sports. She loved to keep up with her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by 2 nephews: Kent (Linda) Phalen of Lakeville, MN and Duane Quick of Atwood, IL; 3 nieces: Janet Hughes of Tuscola, IL; Marlene (Frank) Zyskowski of Tuscola, IL; and Karen (David) Miller of Arthur, IL Her family also includes 10 great-nieces and nephews: Tami (Andy), Jeff (Ann Wilson), Robert (Melissa), Shannon (Jake), Candace, Jessica (Tim), Emily (Cory), Kayleigh, Betsy and Tyler; 5 great-great-nieces and nephews: Matson, Katie, Lyla Jane, Aliana and James.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother and two nephews.
