Raymond Edward Owen went home to his Father on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 peacefully while in his sleep.

He was born on February 1, 1928 in Tuscola, IL to Leonard and Helen Owen. He is preceded in death by arguably his favorite son Mark Owen.

Ray led a very active and fruitful life...,. he owned Cashford's wallpaper and paint store, he was a farmer, a probation officer, a foster parent, a Justice of the Peace, a Special Investigator for the State Attorney's Office, the President of the American Business Club, a member of the Rotary Club and he formed the Christmas Bureau.

Ray collected and sold antiques. He owned one of the largest collections of Coca Cola memorabilia in the country. Ray owned harness race horses and loved golf, fishing, hunting, billiards, bridge and poker. Ray and Lina retired in Key West, Florida where he was a fisherman extraordinaire. Ray and Lina then moved to Harlingen, Texas where he was respected by all in the game of billiards.

Most notably Ray was a wonderful husband and father. He married Lina Jo Lippe in 1950 and they raised children Randy, Mark, Steve and Craig.

Ray is survived by his wife: Lina, sons: Randy, Steve, Craig, daughter-in-law's Kelly Owen (wife of Steve) and Jami Huber Owen (wife of Mark) and grandchildren Gavin, Cashford, Aurora, Henry, Amanda, Kaitlin and Christian.

He joins our Father in Heaven along with his son Mark, parents Leonard and Helen, and many other family and friends.

We all celebrate the time of blessing we had with him and look forward to being united again in our Lord's kingdom.

Until that time, he will be thought of often and missed so very much.

Graveside Services will be held at the Tuscola Township Cemetery on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
