Harvey Raymond Beals, 82, of Decatur, died at 7:43 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Lincolnshire Place of Decatur.

Ray was born October 2, 1942 in Decatur, the son of Clifford and Rose Whitely Beals. He married Linda Handley on June 5, 1964.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Beals of Decatur; daughter, Leanne (Stan) Roberts of Waterloo; sister, Dixie (Gary) Hale of Lovington; granddaughter, Alicia Rose; and great granddaughter, Gianna Rose.

Ray retired from Caterpillar in Decatur. He was a member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Decatur, where he served as an Elder.

Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2155 N. Oakland Avenue, Decatur with Pastor Bill Abbott officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Humboldt Cemetery with military rites by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.  Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.
