Raymond Arthur "Art" Beazley, 70, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, formerly of Arcola, died October 30, 2011 following a heroic 22-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

There will be a visitation from 2:00-3:00 PM Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at the Arcola Presbyterian Church. A graveside service for family members will be held at the Arcola Cemetery. Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, is assisting the family with local arrangements.

Art was born September 27, 1941 in Tuscola, the son of the late Raymond Thomas Archer and Elizabeth Olive Goode Beazley. He was united in marriage to Linda Stump in Arcola on June 29, 1963.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Raymond Mark (Kimberly) Beazley; Donald Brian (Amiee) Beazley; one daughter, Maresa Lynn (Daniel) DePuy; six grandchildren, Ian and Tessa Beazley; Madeline and Owen DePuy; Tanner and Brady Beazley; and one brother, John Kenneth (Cathy) Beazley.

Art graduated from Arcola High School in 1959 and received degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois. He was a loyal employee of Exxon Engineering from 1965-2000. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Travelers Rest, S. Carolina.

Art was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed playing golf. He also played the piano and saxophone, loved to read, traveled widely, actively volunteered and enjoyed family and friends.
