Obituary
Ralph Edwin Noblitt, 79, of Decatur, formerly of Arcola, died at 4:43 AM Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 31, 2010 at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, with Rev. David Land officiating. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
Mr. Noblitt was born July 14, 1931 in Arcola, the son of Ira and Leona M. Wucherpfenig Noblitt. He was united in marriage to Mary Shipley in Flora on Sept. 7, 1952; she survives.
Besides his wife Mary of Decatur, he is survived by one son, William D. Noblitt and wife Ellen of Decatur; one daughter, Susan and husband Rev. David Land of Indianapolis; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Mr. Noblitt graduated from Arcola High School Class of 1949. He had been employed as a telegrapher for the Norfolk & Western Railroad. He was a member of the Arcola United Methodist Church.
