Obituary
Ralph L. Berner, 81, of Arthur, died at 11:00 AM Monday, December 24, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, December 28, 2012 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Pastor Joe Diener officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded. Visitation will be held from noon until 1:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Ralph was born November 10, 1931 in Lovington, the son of Gottlieb and Irma Smart Berner. He married Wilma Louise Curry on February 16, 1952 and she suvives.
Besides his wife Wilma Berner of Arthur, survivors include one son, Terry Berner of Arthur; and daughter, Mary Davis of Mattoon; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Berner.
Ralph was a truck driver and formerly worked at Collins Oil in Arthur. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
