Rachel Joan Mann, 69, of Arthur, died at 5:10 AM Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Arthur Home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, March 14, 2014 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Rev. Mitch Flesch officiating. Burial will follow in the Keller Cemetery, Lovington. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Rachel was born March 26, 1944 in Arthur, the daughter of John Rondell and Lear Truebell Jent Carter.

Survivors include four children, Penny Hoffman of Atwood; Shelly Pouder of Mechanicsburg; Howard (Bonnie) Elder of Decatur; Mary (Josh) Mulvaney of Windsor; brother, Randy Carter of Arthur; 3 sisters, Joyce Sapp of Arthur; Kimberly Hasty of Champaign; Annetta Carter of Arthur; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Phyllis Mann; brother, Johnnie Carter; son-in-law, Michael Mann; and granddaughter, Brandilyln Mann.

Rachel worked as a CNA for 41 years, including the Arthur Home, in Arcola, Bement, and Sullivan. She was a member of the Arthur Southern Baptist Church.

She enjoyed doing needle point, cross stitching, watching John Wayne movies and Walker-Texas Ranger; and loved spending time with her family.
