Polly Joan Hines, 94, of Tavernier, Florida, formerly of Humboldt, died at 11:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, 205 at the Oasis of the Keys in Tavernier.

Polly was born December 30, 1930 in Humboldt Twp. the daughter of Clarence and Evellyn Purdum Hovis.  She married Melvin Hines and he preceded her in death on September 10, 2004.

Polly graduated from Humboldt High School. She had worked as a dental assistant and also as a payroll specialist for Homestead Air Force Base

She is survived by her son, Stephen (Constance) Hines of Tavernier, Florida; daughter, Kathleen (Amos) Burdett of Plano, Texas; brother, Fred (Carol) Hovis; sister-in-law, Jolene Hovis; grandsons, Jeremy (Jennifer) Burdett; Justin (Emily) Burdett; great granddaughters, Emily and Alana Burdett.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, June Steuerwald, Francis Werner; and brother, Ken Hovis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, Illinois, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the Humboldt Cemetery.
