Obituary

Phyllis (Knaus) Randell, 93, of Tuscola, IL passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL

Born on July 26, 1923, near Arcola, IL, she was the youngest of eight children born to George and Mary (Kruger) Knaus. She graduated from Arcola High School, and worked for the Tuscola Journal Newspaper before she married Francis Randell in 1948. She and Francis lived on a farm in rural Tuscola for their entire married life. They raised four children, Jim Randell, Jean (Jerry) Leonard of Tuscola, Mark Randell of Tuscola and Philip (Debby) Randell of Lakewood, CO.

Phyllis also leaves seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, Francis and her son, Jim.

Phyllis and Francis were active members of the Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church in rural Tuscola until it closed. Phyllis then attended the Tuscola United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.

Phyllis was devoted to her loving husband, children and special life-long friends, Charles and Juanita Rairden. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking and baking.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Camargo Cemetery, Camargo, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Tuscola United Methodist Church or to the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL
