Phyllis A. Hawkins, 85 of Tuscola, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL.

Private family graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.

Phyllis was born on September 10, 1936 in Carmi, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Mildred Argo Murdach. She married Gerald F. "Jerry" Hawkins on November 23, 1957 in Carmi, IL. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2008.

Survivors include her son: Tom (Angie) Hawkins, daughter: Beth Hawkins, daughter-in-law: Kim Hawkins. 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, brother: Les (Barb) Murdach, sister: Edna Porter, brother-in-law: Royce (Carolyn) Hawkins, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Doug, brother: Hubert, sisters: Beulah, Bernita and Doris.

Phyllis retired from USI Chemical Company in 1994, She was an avid reader, loved to go antiquing and enjoyed flower gardening. Phyllis loved to be on the move and go to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Tuscola Public Library.
