Patti Hill Phillips of Tuscola, Illinois, passed away at 2:30 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016 at her daughter's home in rural Camargo with her children at her side.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, Illinois, with Rev. Duane Piercy and Honorable Frank Lincoln officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, Illinois.
Patti was born on June 13, 1937 in Tuscola, Illinois, the daughter of Jake L. and Betty L. Hill.
Survivors include her daughter: Teri Phillips-Storrs and husband: Dr. Paul Storrs of Camargo and Chicago Illinois, son: Mark Phillips and wife: Kelly of Tuscola, and her brother: Chris L. Hill and wife: Melanie of Tuscola and Palm Beach, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Patti graduated from Tuscola Community High School, while in high school she worked at Mill's Drug Store in Tuscola. She began her career in photography by working at Pettitt's Photo Service. Patti was a professional photographer for over 50 years in her business of Pat's Studio. For a period of time she enjoyed working at her brother's business, Kofski's Art and Antiques, in Palm Beach, Florida.
After retiring from photography, she worked for the Tuscola Tourism Office. In connection with her duties there, she was instrumental in creating the Tuscola Sesquicentennial publication: "Tuscola Strolling Thru the Past 1857 – 2007, a Pictorial History" and guiding it thru publication. She organized the Tuscola community celebration for it's 150th year anniversary. First and foremost, Patti was a Tuscolian and she never met a stranger.
She enjoyed spending time with her children. She very much loved her Boston Terriers and her work with the dog rescue groups.
