Patricia L. Emberton, 70, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 5:00 pm, Thursday, March 17, 2011 at her residence.

Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with Dr. Lanny Faulkner officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the services at the funeral home.

Patricia was born on August 26, 1940 in Monroe County, KY, the daughter of Cordell and Gladys Brandon Brooks. She married Charles L. Emberton on October 28, 1957 in Arcola, IL. He survives.

Other survivors include her children and grandchildren: Jane Cochran and husband: Bill of Cape Coral, FL and their children: Dana, Rachel and Drew, Sherri Murphy of Brocton and her son: Charles, Gary Emberton of San Diego, CA and his daughter: Samantha, Lori Emberton of Bement and her daughter: Amanda, Greg Emberton of Atwood, IL and his children: Ashley,Turner and Tyler, 2 Great-Grandchildren: Abigail and Nathan, Brother: Bill Brooks of Lafayette, TN, Sisters: Jean Bray of Red Boiling Springs, TN and Audrey England of Gamaliel, KY

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Patricia and her husband both worked as janitors at the Atwood-Hammond High School for over 20 years.
She loved to paint, sew, garden, read and spend quality time with her family and grandchildren.
