Orthalyne M. Rahn, 94, of Carmel, IN, formerly of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 11:35 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at MCHS Summer Trace, Carmel, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 East Northline Rd, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Jason Braaten officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 S. Main St., Tuscola, IL is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mrs. Rahn was born February 25, 1916 in Danville, IL, the daughter of Fred and Louise Schultz Quast. She married Floyd Henry Rahn on March 28, 1937 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1997.

She is survived by her son: Wendell Rahn and wife Carole of Carmel, IN; daughter: Twylla Mae Ford of Southport, NC; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, three sisters and a grandchild.

Orthalyne was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Tuscola, IL. She was very active in the Ladies Aid and the quilting club at the church. She was a member of Douglas County Home Bureau and a 4-H leader. She was well known for her perfect needlework pieces and her wonderful baking skills.
