Obituary

Opal M. Wilson, age 96, of Tuscola passed away peacefully under Carle Hospice Care at the Tuscola Health Care Center on Wednesday, November 13th, 2013.

The funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 18th at Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, with Reverend Kenneth Roedder presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Opal was born on September 10, 1917 in Arthur, Illinois the daughter of Orville Storey and Leota Kinney Storey. She married Harold 'Mike' Wilson in October of 1934 in Effingham. He passed away in September 1994. Her precious daughter, Jackie Wilson Sharp departed this world in December of 2003. Survivors are her son-in-law, Gerald (Jerry) Sharp; nephew Chris Hill and wife Melanie of Palm Beach, Florida; niece Patti Hill Phillips of Camargo, Vicki and Dennis Karr of Donovan, Illinois; nephew Donald Pippin of Indianapolis, Indiana; Mark Phillips and wife Kelly of Tuscola; Terri and husband Dr. Paul Storrs of Chicago; Leon Kinney of Tuscola; Scott Kinney of Mattoon; Kevin and Christi Conner of Pesotum; Charles and Doris Hall of Marion Iowa; Edward Wilson of Tuscola; Bobby Wilson and wife Sharon of Tuscola and their respective family members. And special friends, Minnie and Les Vandeventer of Villa Grove; Robert Mears of West Palm Beach, Florida; Bonnie Kinney of Mattoon; Nanette Day of Tuscola; Cindy and Kirby Pringle of Tuscola.
She appreciated her special friends and the staff at The Jarman Center where she had resided for the past five years.

Opal was employed by Crosley-Avco in Cincinnati, Ohio. She formerly worked at Grab-It Here and Eisner stores as well as Mills Pharmacy in Tuscola. Opal was a meter maid for the Tuscola Police Department. When she retired, she was manager of Chris Hill Antiques in Tuscola.

While at home, Opal enjoyed sewing and making things for her home. She also had a special love for God's little creatures and loved to feed the birds, squirrels and rabbits in her yard. She cherished her cat "Mimzie".
