Obituary
Norman Rex Brown, 63, of Collinsville, formerly of Humboldt, died at 3:20 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Humboldt Cemetery, with Bishop Steven Woolf officiating. Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Norman was born April 18, 1952 in Mattoon, the son of Clinton Floyd and Norma Ruth Steele Brown. He married Kim Soo Wilber in Decatur on Nov. 9, 1975.
He is survived by his wife Kim Soo Brown of Collinsville; son, Aidan Brown of Collinsville; and daughter, Maggie Brown of Collinsville. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Norman was a member of the Fairview Heights Ward of the Church of the Latter Day Saints.
Norman was a professional land surveyor and worked for Bechtel, Inc. in the construction department. He taught Survey and Geographic Information Systems at Florissant Valley Community College and also in Guyana. He participated in an archeological dig for the college in Macedonia for 6 weeks. Norman was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan.
