Noel Anne Shoemaker, 83, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 4:41 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at her daughter's residence.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Ralph Deal officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lewis Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.

Noel was born on December 18, 1931 in Urbana, IL, the daughter of John Craig and Mary Lucille Brett Parrish. She married Jewel Irvin Shoemaker on September 8, 1950. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2005.

Survivors include her sons: Bill Shoemaker and wife: Barbara of DeKalb, IL, Bob Shoemaker and wife: Vicki of Sadorus, IL; daughters: Linda Heiser and husband: Mark of Foosland, IL and Julie McCrory and husband: David of Tuscola, IL; 11 grandchildren: Heidi, Christopher, Nathan, Gabriel, Audrey, Eric, Lisa, Matthew, Melissa, Brett and Melinda, 13 great-grandchildren and brother: John Parrish of Seattle, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister: Penny Hardesty and 2 grandchildren.

Noel was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ, Pesotum Home Extension, Tuscola Woman's Club, Douglas County Museum Association, Illinois Herb Society and the National Herb Society. She owned and operated Herbs of Grace until her retirement in 1996. Noel really enjoyed sharing her love for gardening with herbs and flowers. She loved books and was an avid reader. Her greatest love was being with her family and friends.

Memorials are suggested to Carle Hospice, Tuscola Public Library or the Tuscola United Church of Christ.
