ARTHUR, ILLINOIS
Nim Odell Gray, 76, of Arthur, died at 10:11 AM Sunday, September 11, 2011 at his home in Arthur.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Ron Bartanen officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Nim was born October 31, 1934 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, the son of Cordell and Myrtle Crowe Gray. He was united in marriage to Mary Harlin in Arthur on June 30, 1956.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Gray of Arthur; son, James "Corky" Harlin of Arthur; 3 grandsons, Jason and Jeremy Harlin of Arthur; Cordell Harlin of Newman; 5 great grandchildren, Gavin Harlin of Sullivan; Trenton Harlin of Lovington; Isabel Harlin of Arthur; Kristen and Allie
O'Neal both of Sullivan; 1 brother, Ted Gray of Charlestown, Indiana; 5 sisters, Nadine Ryherd and Inez Smith both of Arthur; Linda Coulter, Jean McPherson, and Gwen Hay all of Tompkinsville, Kentucky.
Nim had worked at Progress Industries in Arthur for over 20 years and then retired from Caterpillar in Decatur after 20 years. He was a member of the Arthur Church of Christ.
He was an outdoors man who hunted whether rain or shine and enjoyed training Beagles. He enjoyed his family and friends and reminiscing with his fellow hunters.
