Nick W. Flenniken, 68, of Tuscola, IL, passed away on Thursday morning, July 4, 2024 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola, IL with Father Varghese Puthussery officiating. Burial will follow in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

A Rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.

Visitation will be held from 3:15 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday.

Nick was born on March 1, 1956 in Urbana, the son of Bill and Liz Dunwoodie Flenniken. He married Maurine E. Billman on May 20, 1978 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, rural Pesotum, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his son: Nicholas (Kacie) Flenniken of Robinson, daughters: Danielle Stabler and Betsi Cooley both of Tuscola, grandchildren: Kora, Neka and Bodi Flenniken, Devin and Scarlet Stabler and Ethan and Dylan Cooley, sister: Kim (Cathy) Flenniken-Wikoff of Alton, mother-in-law: Sondra Billman of Tuscola as well as several sisters and brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law: Vernon Billman and nephew: Caleb Hardwick.

The majority of Nick's work career was spent with Illini FS and Alloy Engineering and Casting Company. He always had a side job to stay busy. He was a volunteer firefighter for 8 years for the Tuscola Fire Department.

Nick enjoyed cars, drinking beer around a fire with friends and family, telling jokes and all things related to his grandkids.

He was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church and the Tuscola Moose Lodge.

Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation or Lewy Body Dementia Association.
