Nell Ruth Slone of Urbana, formerly of Tuscola, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at her daughter's home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Nell was born on March 4, 1933 in Elkhorn City, Kentucky, the daughter of Henry and Narcissia Ramey Matney.

On November 24, 1954, Nell married her beloved husband Ocil Slone. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2022.

Nell worked for Motorola as an inspector for many years.

Nell was a doting grandmother, who devoted her later years to all of her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, making crafts and sitting outside.

She is survived by her daughters: Carolyn Dyer and Patricia Slone, grandchildren: Rachel Mouk, Dan Farrell, Delaney Farrell, Joshua and Jake Dyer, great-grandchildren: Ben and Nora.

Nell was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers and 2 half-sisters.
