Nancy Louise Parsons, 73, of Mahomet, IL, passed away on Saturday April 6, 2013 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.


Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East U.S. Highway 36, Atwood, IL. The Reverend Dennis Hanner will be officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.


Nancy was born on February 15, 1940, in Newark, Ohio, the daughter of James and Dorothy Jones. She married Edward H. Parsons on November 30, 1963 in Newark, Ohio.


Nancy is survived by her husband Edward of almost fifty years, and her children, Anne (Tim) Donovan and Edward A. Parsons; also her sisters, Carol (John) Denison and Janet (Jim) Gresh; and four grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents.

Nancy worked as an accountant for various companies for fifteen years. She graduated from Newark High School in 1958, and from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN in 1962, where she majored in English and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.


Nancy enjoyed bridge, reading, word games, playing cards with her family, puzzles and crafting.
