Nancy C. Harriss, 92, died on Wednesday morning, April 18, 2007, at the Tuscola Health Care Center.

Nancy was a long-time resident of Tuscola since 1950. She formerly owned Harriss' Flowers & Gifts, later called "The Flower Pot" and co-owned with Helen Deem. Nancy also worked at Koehnemann's Furniture Store, where she was well known for her decorating skills and creativity. Nancy's home was a gathering place for family and friends, and her hospitality and cooking made her everyone's favorite. Nancy was born on January 30, 1915, to a large family in West Frankfort, IL.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Paige in 1985, her Parents, 6 Brothers, 4 Sisters and her Daughter: Nancy Ann Ortiz. Surviving are one Sister, Kathryn Evett of Macon, GA, 2 Sons: Clayton (Judy) Harriss and Tom (Vicki) Harriss both of Tuscola, Grandchildren: Jane Ellen (Dan) Meyer of Hartford, WI, Abbie Harriss, Scott (Susan) Branca, Allison Branca and Darin Strack all of Tuscola, Elliot Harriss of St. Louis, MO and Darcy Strack of Chicago, IL.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Scott Zorn officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL
