Myrtis Mason, 86, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 5:33 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola , IL, with Rev. Ralph Deal officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.

Myrtis was born on December 13, 1926 in Abilene, TX, the daughter of Henry Grady and Mary Annie Willis Moore. She married Herbert Eldon Mason on July 22, 1948 in Vincennes, IN. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2011.

Survivors include her sons: Jim (Cyd) Mason of Perrysville, IN, David (Patty) Mason of Newton, IL and Mike (Suzie) Mason of Luling, LA, grandchildren: Laura (Danny) Fiorini, Trent (Miranda) Mason, Jiles Mason and Tyler Mason, two great-grandsons: Mason Fiorini and Drew Fiorini, twin brother: Curtis Moore of Wichita Falls, TX, brothers: Charles Moore of Hubbard, TX, John Moore of Denver, CO, Sherman Moore of Little Rock, AR, sisters: Roberta Langford of McGregor, TX, Roxie Gruden of Austin, TX, Ann Winklemann of Colorado Springs, CO, Gladys Cissik of McGregor, TX, and Rosemary Neiman of Malone, TX

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Billy Joe Moore and sisters: Geraldine Threadgill and Polly Baker.

Memorials are suggested to the Tuscola United Church of Christ.

Myrtis was a retired bookkeeper, having worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Tuscola National Bank, Champaign Bank and Trust and Phil Lamb Chevrolet. She received her Associate Degree from Parkland College in accounting. Myrtis was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ and a 50 year member of the Lawrenceville Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed music, singing in the church choir, playing cards and dominos with her family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandsons.
