Myrtie J. Eastin, 87, of Tuscola, passed away on Monday morning, September 8, 2025 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial will follow in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the funeral home.

Myrtie was born on March 11, 1938 in Tuscola, the daughter of Manuel N. and Mary Opal Roderick Simpson. She married Elrah E. Eastin on July 6, 1957 in Camargo. He survives.

Also surviving are her sons: E.J. (Gina) Eastin of Tuscola and Dennis (Kathy) Eastin of Gretna, VA, grandchildren: Dale and Callie, sister: Evelyn Hutchison of Villa Grove, brother: Eugene (Pam) Simpson of Atwood. sister-in-law: Nancy Simpson of Camargo and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, infant daughter: Terrie Lynn Eastin, infant grandson: R.J. Eastin, brother: Nelson Simpson and brother-in-law: Russell Hutchison

Myrtie was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and formerly worked as a housekeeper at Provena Hospital and at the Douglas County Courthouse prior to her retirement.

She enjoyed working in her yard, baking and housekeeping. Myrtie enjoyed NASCAR races and was an avid Fighting Illini Fan.

Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or to the donor's choice.
