Morris W. Weaver, 88, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 3:36 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Joe Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston, IL

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Morris was born on February 7, 1936 in Coles County, IL, the son of Ivan William and Mabel Blum Weaver. He married Joyce C. Wright on December 20, 1958 at the Olive Branch Church, Wayne City, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his sons: Jerry Weaver of Champaign and Allen (Lisa) Weaver of Wake Forest, NC, grandchildren: Benjamin (Mary) Weaver, Kristyn (Jordon) Nelson, great-grandchildren: Noah, Laney and Leslie Nelson, sister: Clarice (Gene) Evans of Westfield, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter: Crystal Downs.

Morris graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1956 with a bachelor of science degree in education. He worked for the US Treasury Department as an auditor for the IRS for 34 years in Champaign, Springfield and Mattoon prior to his retirement.
Morris was a member of the Tuscola Church of the Nazarene and he was an avid reader. He enjoyed studying the Bible and watching baseball games.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
