Mildred Frances Key, 96, of Arcola, died at 7:50 PM Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Arthur Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, with Rev. Vince Rohn officiating. Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
Mildred was born August 4, 1917 in Arcola, the daughter of George and Mary Kruger Knaus. She married Allen Roy "Bill" Key in Arcola on May 1, 1937; he preceded her in death on October 30, 1990.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Alice (Charles) O'Kelley of Diagonal, Iowa; Peggy (Ron) Strange of Kankakee; 6 grandchildren, Teri Jo Alexander of Decatur; Chad O'Kelley of Carson City, Nevada; Heather (Ron) McNichols of Omaha, Nebraska; Shon ( Denae) O'Kelley of Diagonal, Iowa; Troy (Holly) Strange of Plainfield; Rhonda (Michael) Strange Love of Kankakee; 9 great grandchildren; and sister, Phyllis Randell of Tuscola. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Mary Moore; sisters, Marguerite and Wilma; 4 brothers, Dale, Roy, Ralph, and Fred Knaus.
Mildred graduated from Arcola High School Class of 1935. She was a member of the Arcola United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and spending time with her family.
Memorials are suggested to the Arcola United Methodist Church.
