Michael Stewart, 58, of Leroy, IL, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at his home.

Michael was born December 3, 1954 at Salem Indiana, son of Bonnie and Carl Barbee, Atwood , IL and the late Eston M. Stewart.

He is survived by his devoted partner Rick Edwards also of LeRoy, IL. In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his sisters: Cindy (Mick) Murphy of Arcola and Karen (Larry) Burton of Atwood and brother David Stewart of Emerald Hills, CA, Michael also had two nieces: Chelsie Weaver (his special Ninja) of Atwood, Mindy (Ty) Ledbetter of Arthur, 4 nephews: Chris (Vicki) Murphy of Trilla, Mark (Terra) Benner of Buckeye, AZ, Matt (Kelly)Murphy of Arcola , Jamin (Kristina) Weaver of Peoria. Michael also had a great niece and two great nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Michael enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping and traveling. He also enjoyed carpentry and helping his family. Michael graduated from Atwood-Hammond High School and attended Eastern Illinois University. Michael was employed at Mitsubishi Motors for 24 years.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with Dr. Lanny Faulkner officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL
