Michael Dale Herman, 71, of Humboldt, died at 7:18 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at his residence.

Mike was born April 27, 1951 in Charleston, the son of Lawrence and Catherine Bennett Herman.  He married Barbara Romine (Swisher) in Charleston on December 6, 1991.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Herman of Humboldt; children, Eric (Lydia) Herman of Golf Shores, Alabama; Tonya Herman of Mattoon; Chuck Herman of Mattoon; Laurie (Rob) Cooley of Decatur; Ryan (Nikki) Romine of Atwood; Andy (Gina) Romine of Tuscola; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Sandy Rigsby of Mattoon; Retha Easton of Fairfield; Sherry Kerz of Sullivan; and brother-in-law, Phil Green of Greenup.

He was preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters.

Mike was a member of Local #149 and was employed as a plumber.  He retired from Eastern Illinois University in 2014.

There will be a memorial service held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cooks Mills.  Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, is assisting the family with services.
