Maxine Strong Roedder, 88, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 2:45 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to services on Friday.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 30, 2013 at Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston, IL.

Maxine was born on July 25, 1925 in Douglas County, IL, the daughter of Samuel and Ida Allison McQueen. She married Raymond Drake in June 16, 1943. She married Russell Strong on May 3, 1957. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1987. She married Rev. Kenneth Roedder on September 3, 1989. He survives.

Also surviving are her three children: Diana (Jim) Acord of Kansas, IL, Mike (Rachel) Drake of Charleston, IL and Sue (Charlie) Rardin of Mattoon, IL, sons: Mark Roedder of St. Charles, MO and Jon (Amy) Roedder of Carmi, IL, daughters: Ann Sasso of Metamora, IL and Karen (John) Chastain of St. Charles, MO, 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great –great- grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters, a son, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

She was a member of the Tuscola/Zion Parish, United Church of Christ; the Booster and Fidelis/Crusader Sunday School Classes, Zion's Women's Fellowship and Come Join Us. Maxine was a Chicago Cubs fan. She loved music, dancing and camping. She belonged to the women's Bowling Association in Charleston, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to: Tuscola United Methodist Church Emergency Fund or the church of the donor's choice.
