Obituary

Rev. Maurice "Bud" Eugene Bolt, 89, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 8:30 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2019 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Burial will follow in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL with military graveside rites accorded.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Maurice was born on November 17, 1929 in Douglas County, IL, the son of Eugene and Margaret Randall Bolt. He married Doris V. Fishburn on April 18, 1954 in Christian County, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his daughters: Debra Wierman of Atwood, Cheryle (Bobby) Leech of Clarksville, AR and Linda (Steve) Flinn of Belpre, OH, son: James (Joy) Bolt of Bement, many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter, brother: John Bolt of Urbana and sister: Margery Fryman of Mattoon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son: Michael Bolt, son-in-law: Gary Wierman, brother: Donald Bolt and sister: Velma Mulvaney.

Maurice was a retired brick mason. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran, having earned a Purple Heart. He was a member and past commander of the James Reeder American Legion Post #770, Atwood, IL. He served as the minister at the Voorhies Church from the early 70's until the present.
