Mary Myers, 89, of Garrett, IL, passed away at 12:40 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Bement Health Care Center, Bement, IL

Public graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood, IL. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood, IL is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mary was born on April 3, 1928 in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Clem and Veronica Donsbach Henkelman. She married Donald E. Myers on September 10, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 26, 2005.

Survivors include her sons: Jimmy D. (Dale Lynn) Myers of Bement and Glen L. (Carol) Myers of Atwood, daughters: Shirley A. (Phil) Waller of Glendale, AZ and Julie E. (Marty) Catron of Flora, IN, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest memorials to the Bement Health Care Center, Harbor Light Hospice, Forsyth, IL, or First Christian Church, Tuscola.

Mary was a homemaker, crafter & crocheter, gardener, wonderful mother and grandmother, known by all for her kindness and generous nature. She worked for the Atwood-Herald in the 1970's, was a member of the First Christian Church of Tuscola, Douglas County Home Extension, and American Legion Auxiliary in Atwood.

She will be missed by all who knew her.
