Mary Frances "Cissy" Lyons, 87, of Arcola, died at 12:40 AM Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Arcola Health Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 7, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Arcola, with Rev. Barry Harmon officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM with Wake Service at 4:30 PM at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Cissy was born March 8, 1925 in Mattoon the daughter of Elzy and Charlotte Paulin Patterson. She was united in marriage to John "Jack" Patrick Lyons on December 29, 1951; he preceded her in death on January 16, 2005.

Cissy and Jack's first son, John Patrick Lyons died at the age of two in 1956. Survivors include son, Tom (Sherry) Lyons of Arcola; daughter, Marcia (Terry) Foran of Arcola; 5 grandchilden, John (Stacey) Foran of Chicago, Nichole (Christopher) Keenan of Naperville, Michael (Myranda) Lyons, Jeffrey (Randi) Lyons, Patrick Lyons all of Arcola; 5 great grandchildren, Alivia Foran, Madalyn, Max, Brandon, and Kayla Lyons; sister, Sara Lou Gass of Mattoon; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; infant son; one sister; Patty Ashworth; and 2 brothers-in-law, Woody Gass and Charles Ashworth.

Cissy was a member of St. John's Catholic Church where she served in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was involved in her children's and grandchildren's activities and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening and oil painting.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's Altar and Rosary Society or St. John's Social Fund Raising Committee.
