Mary Margaret Hettinger Teeters of Tuscola, IL went to her true home with the Lord on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the age of 99 ½. She was born on October 12, 1915 in Paulding, Ohio. In 1930 she moved to the Pesotum area. Later her family moved to Tuscola and she graduated from Tuscola High School in 1933. A few months later, on December 9, 1933 she married Albert Thomas Teeters of Tuscola. They built their home at 206 East Barker where Albert lived until he died in 2000 and Mary lived until 2008.

Mary was a homemaker, bookkeeper for Albert's carpentry business, a leader for Cub Scouts, Brownie Scouts and 4-H. She was a Charter Member and Life Member of the Tuscola Women of the Moose where she held many offices. She worked in the Douglas County Sheriff's office and for 15 years in the Purchasing Department of the U of I.

She loved to dance, especially square dancing which she and Albert did for 30 + years. Mary also enjoyed sewing, making pieced quilts, crocheting afghans, doing crewel embroidery, playing the organ, fishing, water skiing and reading. The crocheting and reading lasted until she died.

Mary was a lifelong, active Catholic and member of Forty Martyrs in Tuscola, IL. She was involved in RCIA, was a member of several different Bible Study groups thru the years, a member of the Altar Society and baked, probably, 100's of turkeys for the Annual Turkey Dinner!

Mary Margaret Hettinger Teeters was preceded in death by her husband Albert, their daughter Mary Ann, their son Jim and his wife Helen Scheu Teeters, her parents, and infant sister, her two sisters Pauline and Sr. Mary Amata, her two brothers George and Lewis, 5 sister-in-law's and her 1 brother-in-law.

She is survived by her daughter Carol Teeters Lindsay Humphries and her husband, Bubba of Richmond, VA, grandchildren Lisa Teeters McCallister (Paul Snow) of Tuscola, Jeff Teeters (Darla) of Moweaqua, IL, Ken Lindsay (Lynn) of Burlington, Iowa, Noreen Lindsay of Lynchburg, VA and step granddaughter Tracy Humphries Mosco of Lynchburg, VA. Her great-grandchildren are Zach & Cole McCallister, Hannah and Tiffany Teeters. Stephanie Lindsay and step-great-grandson Cody Mosco, sister-in-law Irene Rogers of Tuscola. These and many, many nieces, nephews and friends will miss her terribly and await the time when we see her again.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola, IL with Father Angel Sierra as celebrant. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.
