Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Cox, 88, of Tuscola, IL, died at 5:00 AM, Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Anne Jones & Rev. Lisa Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Mrs. Cox was born on July 28, 1917 in Marinette, Wisconsin, the daughter of Morton and Mary E. Coffey John. She married Theo M. "Ted" Cox on September 1, 1949 in Marinette, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2003.
Survivors include: 2 Sons: John Cox of Mattoon, IL, James Cox of Tuscola, IL, 4 Grandchildren: Erica Cox, Dylan Cox, Christina Cox, Matthew Cox
She was preceded in death by her Parents and 4 Brothers.

Mrs. Cox worked as a registered nurse at Jarman Memorial Hospital, Tuscola, IL, before retiring in 1976. She was a 1948 graduate of the Presbyterian-St. Luke's School of Nursing, Chicago, IL. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mattoon and the former First Presbyterian Church of Tuscola. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, making doll clothing, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
