Marvin F. Boberg, 81, formerly of Monticello, IL, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Bickford of Champaign, Champaign, IL
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Monticello, 114 North Emerson Street, Monticello, IL. Graveside Services with military rites will be held immediately following the visitation at the Monticello Township Cemetery with Pastor Mitch Estep officiating.
Marvin was born on March 22, 1936 in Bicknell, Indiana, the son of August and Matilda Spangle Boberg. He married Carolyn S. Tucker on June 18, 1960 in Bridgeport, Illinois. She preceded him in death on May 22, 2001.
Survivors include his sons: James (Lilliana) Boberg of Argentina, David (Sheri) Boberg of Savoy and daughter: Trina (Tim) Hilligoss of Tuscola, grandchildren: Kyle Boberg, Heather Boberg, MacKenzie Boberg and Tiago Boberg, brother: Wilbur (Reda) Boberg of Carlisle, Indiana
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughters: Morgan Boberg and Holly Boberg.
Marvin was a lab technician for Provena Medical Center in Urbana, having retired in 2002. He served his country as a member of the US Army.
Marvin was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monticello.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Monticello or to the donor's choice.
