Martha Louise Wheeler, 74, of Arcola, IL, passed peacefully surrounded by her family at 7:14 pm, Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at her family residence.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Shrader Funeral Home, 204 North Locust, Arcola, IL with the Rev. Kent Conover officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. on Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the Arcola Cemetery.

Martha was born May 11, 1942 in Grand Towers, IL, the daughter of David Henry and Flossie Juanita LaMasters Armer.  She married Kenneth Louis Wheeler on April 8, l959 in Arcola, IL. He survives.

Also surviving are their children, Kenneth E. (Bonita) Wheeler of Mocksville, NC, Mrs. Penny Sly of Arcola, Mrs. Julie Cox of Arcola, John (Charity) Wheeler of Filson, and Martin (Brittany) Wheeler of Oakland.

She leaves 3 brothers; David (Cora Mae) Armer of Edmonton, KY, Archie (Donna) of Taylorville, GA, Roger Armer of Trilla, IL; 3 Sisters, Mrs. Wanita Ragland and Mrs. Mary Hayes both of Mattoon, and Mrs. Quitera (Johnny) Wheeler of Gamaliel, KY.  11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her sister Shirley Cisna and son-in-laws Scott Sly and Neal Cox. Martha loved to work in her flower garden, cook for her family and sew for her kids and grandkids.  She especially loved her dog Lucy.
