Martha L. Hadden, 89, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 3:48 p.m., Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with the Rev. Dennis Hanner officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.

Martha was born on January 11, 1924 in Douglas County, IL, the daughter of Roy and Edith Quinn Lewis. She married Rex E. Hadden on February 12, 1944 in Atwood, IL. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2012

Survivors include her sons: Phillip Hadden of Atwood, IL and Brian Hadden of Missoula, MT
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Donald E. Lewis.

Martha graduated from Atwood High School in 1942 and Brown's Business College in Decatur, IL. She worked as a secretary at USI-Quantum Chemical Company in Tuscola, IL in the Engineering Department for 29 years, retiring in May 1991. She and her husband have owned and operated Hadden Jewelry in Atwood, IL since 1949. She was a member of the James Reeder American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
