Marilyn Teresa Hinton, 85, of Tuscola, IL passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Presence Covenant Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Marilyn was born May 13, 1928 in Urbana, IL, the daughter of Vern and Josephine Auth. She married her beloved husband Robert D. Hinton on January 11, 1947 in Alhambra, California.
The visitation will be Tuesday March 25, 2014 from 4-7pm at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main, Tuscola with the vigil service preceding at 3pm. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00am at Forty Martyrs Catholic Church at 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola with burial following at the Tuscola Township Cemetery.
She is survived by her five daughters; Janice Kuhl and husband Tom of Springfield, IL; Kathie Fornoff of Pekin, IL; Nancy Branca and husband John of Tuscola, IL; Peggy Little and husband Rick of Champaign, IL; and Lisa Bechtel and husband Scott of Champaign, IL. Her grandchildren are; Robert Lane, Sara McLean and husband Arthur, Matt Fornoff, Lisa Goodman and husband Harrison, Teresa Fornoff, Jiliane Johnson and husband Matt, Caleb Keith, Alyssa Elliott and husband Mike, and Alexandra Bechtel, John Kuhl and wife Angie, Christina Wools and husband Matt, Scott Branca and wife Susan, Allison Branca. Her great-grandchildren are, Gareth & Lachlan McLean, Ezekiel Goodman, Ava, Lauren, and Wravenna Johnson, and Henry Elliott, Elise & Ian Kuhl, Jacob & Jared Wools, Hunter Branca, Tanner Block. She is also survived by her sister Virginia Flavin and husband Robert.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, granddaughter Kristen Lane-Brunson, two great- grandchildren Jocelyne and Myles, and brothers Jim and Dale Auth.
Marilyn attended Alhambra High School in California and graduated from Bement High School, where she was homecoming queen and a finalist in the Rose Queen's Court & Ball in the Tournament of Roses in 1947, Pasadena, California.
Marilyn and Bob spent most of their life raising their family and farming in the Tuscola area. Marilyn was an avid gardener and anyone who knew her would admire her beautiful gardens. She loved to sew, oil paint, travel and bird watch.
