Margaret V. "Peggy" Varney, 98, of Newman, IL, formerly of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 9:56 AM, Monday, November 19, 2007 at the Newman Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Newman, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, November 23, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL
Mrs. Varney was born on March 12, 1909 in Indianapolis, IN. She was the daughter of Everett and Minnie Ellen Riley Paullin.
Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Virginia D. "Ginny" Ward and husband: Herschel of Brocton, IL, 5 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Jean B. Leonard and 1 Brother: Richard Good
Mrs. Varney was a former legal secretary. She had worked at the American Embassy in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil for several years. She was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church and a member and past Worthy Matron of the Tuscola Chapter #44 Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to bird watch and raise parakeets.
