The life of Marcella Ann Skaggs, age 82, of Champaign, IL, formerly of Tuscola, ceased at 6:42 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital.

She was born in Mason County, IL, on September 4, 1936 to her parents Henry R. Perkins and Norene Perkins. She married Donald Skaggs on November 4, 1955 in Mason City, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2001. Marcella, along with Don and both her mother and father, dedicated her life to her God, Jehovah on June 5, 1965 and remained a faithful Jehovah's Witness until her death.

Marcella is survived by her two sons, Greg Skaggs (Shirley) of Champaign, IL and Michael O'Brien (Vanessa) of Wheaton, IL, as well as eight grandchildren and four great-granddaughters. Also surviving are her sister, Betty Dodson of Lincoln, IL and her brother, Gary Perkins of Carlinville, IL.

Marcella grew up on a farm in Mason City, IL. and started her married life with Don there as well. She and Don together had many happy years of service in preaching the good news of God's Kingdom. Marcella was very appreciative to the Tuscola Congregation for their love and support for nearly 50 years. She also enjoyed her final years knowing the love of the West Champaign congregation.

Marcella was a hard worker who loved her family and friends. She worked in residential and office cleaning for most of her adult life. She finally retired from her last cleaning job at 81 years of age. Marcella was very generous and thrifty. Her family will remember her as a hard-working woman, who loved her family very much and wanted only the best for them.

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 2602 W. Bloomington Rd., Champaign, IL. Brother Marshall Crosby officiating.
A visitation will be at 12:00 PM with the memorial talk at 1:30 PM, Friday, December 28, 2018.
