Mae A. Davis, 88, of Hammond, IL, passed away at 7:25 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with Pastor Doug Davis officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, IL

Mrs. Davis was born on March 27, 1924 in Frazer, KY, the daughter of Isaac and Alma Taylor Marcum. She married Ira H. Davis on June 29, 1940 in Wayne County, KY. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2002.

Survivors include her sons: Harold M. Davis and wife: Linda of Hammond, Clarence D. Davis and wife: Linda of Lovington, and Jeff D. Davis and wife: Ronda of Lovington; daughters: Betty S. Hogan and husband: Edmund of Arthur, and Carolyn D. Smith and husband: Robert of Hammond, 20 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, brother: James Marcum of Joliet, sisters: Zelma Grimm of Normal and Gertie Martin of Owensboro, IN

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter-in-law, 1 great-granddaughter, 1 great-great-grandson, 1 brother and 4 sisters.

Mae was a homemaker. She loved to help her husband work on the family farm. Mae enjoyed quilting, sewing, square dancing and cherished the time spent with her family.

The family would like to thank the staff of Friendship Hill for their loving care and a special thank you to the ARC staff at St. Mary's Hospital for their special care.
