Mabel F. Hoel, 92, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 6:00 P.M., Sunday, October 28, 2007 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 9, 2007
at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 East Northline Road, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Michael Ruhlig officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M., Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.
Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL
Mrs. Hoel was born on May 4, 1915 in Arthur, IL, the daughter of Henry and Clara Klanka Kresin. She married Gale E. Hoel on April 9, 1943 in Tuscola, IL. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1997.
Survivors include her son: Timothy J. Hoel and wife: Sherrie of Tuscola, IL, Grandchildren: Elizabeth Hoel, Erica Leonard and Timothy G. Hoel, Step-Granddaughter: April Kauffman, Great-Grandson: Ethan Hearnley, Great-Granddaughter: Claire Leonard, Step-Great-Grandsons: Chase Kauffman and Hunter Kauffman,
Sister: Irene Schroeder of Savoy, IL.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and 3 Brothers: Ralph Kresin, Arthur Kresin and an Infant Brother.

Mabel was a retired 2nd Grade School Teacher, having taught for 35 years. She started teaching in a one room country school house and she finished her career at North Ward Grade School. She served as principal from 1950-1951 at the original North Ward Grade School. She was a 1932 graduate of Tuscola Community High School and she graduated from Eastern Illinois Teacher's College. She was Past President of the Retired Teacher's Association. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she also taught Sunday School for many years. Mabel was a past member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Ladies Aid and the Tuscola Kiwanis Club. She was the last owner of Hoel Real Estate. In 1985, she was presented with the "Tuscolian of the Year" Award.
